Befriending scheme in Monmouth

At Corona Dental, our local community and its environment is very important to us. We also believe that any good business needs to look to do more than make a profit – it should also give something back to those in less fortunate circumstances. Today’s consumers expect more – almost 90% of people now expect your business to do environmental and social good as a normal part of business strategy. Consumers and employees, influencers and suppliers have all shifted the way they judge a business.

We are embarking on becoming CSR certified (with the CSR coach Mark Topley – https://marktopley.co.uk/ ) and we believe that CSR is important for all businesses in the 21st century – whatever their size and whatever they do. We want our impact on society to be a good one! We want to be a good ‘corporate citizen’ and support and make a contribution to our community and good causes.

We have identifed the Bridges Centre based in beautiful Monmouth in the Wye Valley to be one of our supported charities. The Bridges Centre is an independent Monmouth-based charity, established in 1984, whose aim has always been to enhance the wellbeing of the local community. (http://www.bridgescentre.org.uk/about/ ) We have worked closely with the Community Connections and Befriending team (http://www.befriendingmonmouthshire.org.uk/ ) to support them with their work and vital volunteer car scheme. This transports those who are unable to use other means of transport to hospital appointments, meetings and social groups. We work with the team on all the design and print requirements that they have.
