Our Relationship

Ivy Dental Practice is a large, successful and mixed dental practice based in Edinburgh. In 2007 the principal, Stuart Lutton, approached Corona Dental after we had been recommended to him at a lecture he had attended.

The practice had been growing since Stuart had taken over in 2004 but perhaps not quickly enough. With this in mind, we worked with Stuart and came up with a plan to maximise revenues. At this point in time, Stuart was studying for his MSc in Implantology (successfully gained in 2011) and we made dental implants a key facet of our promotional campaign.

We added content regularly to the website (on a fortnightly basis) to encourage readership and also improve Search Engine Optimisation.

Facebook
This is a wonderful channel for reaching existing patients and also their friends and family. Amongst many initiatives, we ran a ‘Take a photo of our bus’ campaign where patients had to take a picture of one of the buses around the city that Ivy Dental had advertised on and then post it on our Facebook page to be in with a chance of winning a free teeth whitening. This helped us grow the amount of followers as well as engagement with followers.

Twitter
Twitter was used as a way of reaching out to those in Edinburgh who hadn’t heard of us and start to build a relationship. Using interesting and compelling content we grew the follower count to around 800 and gained real patient enquiries through the medium.

Video
This formed an important part of our online campaign. We had a series of videos made that explained the treatments on offer, the benefits of using Ivy Dental and how these treatments could change their lives. These were then shared via Facebook, Twitter, website, YouTube, email and so on.

Email
A great way to gain responses from those existing patients who have given their email addresses to the practice. In Ivy’s case, we particularly promoted adult orthodontics, teeth whitening and same day teeth in this manner to great success.

Radio
Always a good return on investment, even if the initial investment can be substantial. We ran 2 dental implant campaigns – 1 centred on the benefits of dental implants and 1 on the affordability of dental implants at Ivy Dental. These proved successful and a steady stream of implant patients presented.

Advertising
We used a number of titles that targeted the right demographics including 55 Life, i-ON, the bus(!)

Internal materials
We designed posters that were used throughout the practice. We also sent a regular newsletter to existing patients 3 times a year to ensure that they were educated about the treatments on offer. We also designed welcome and referral packs for the practice.
